Education

Todd Churchill was the recipient of an impressive education, graduating from St. Olaf College with a dual bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric as well as Accounting in 1993. During his collegiate years, he was actively involved in various societies and activities such as Alpha Phi Omega, intramural soccer, and public speaking.

After the completion of his degrees, Todd decided to pursue a deeper understanding of accounting practices and enrolled at the University of Minnesota for advanced coursework in Accounting & Tax.

His enthusiasm for both formal education and life experience has awarded him with a successful career path where he can use his expertise to help others succeed financially. All these achievements are a testament to Todd’s commitment to advancing his knowledge base and supporting positive results.

Volunteering

Todd Churchill began his journey of volunteering with the Grass Fed Exchange back in 2010 and still remains a board member to this day. He is committed to promoting grass-fed beef for the social good of land, consumers, and communities. Todd continuously educates producers on strategies to increase the value of the grass-fed industry and improve genetics through exchanges of proven genetics. He also helps producers improve their skills by hosting sales and seminars.

More than a decade has passed since then, and Todd’s dedication to his role as Board Member and the mission of helping out with the grass-fed industry remains unchanged. His guidance has made it possible for Grass Fed Exchange to foster a culture of positivity and collaboration among its members while paving the way for success in this wonderful cause. Todd Churchill is a respected business leader in the U.S., having served as a Consulting CFO to over 130 businesses and non-profits since 1997. He has worked with entities across multiple industries, such as manufacturing, restaurants, software development, transportation, meat processing, marketing, e-commerce, agriculture and food distribution. He is also an experienced entrepreneur and co-founder of Blue Nest Beef-where he works to show that properly managed grasslands and cattle can not only save grassland birds but also sequester massive amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere.

Todd’s ability to help clean up water sources and provide a solid financial return to ranchers contributes even more to the benefits of this project. He is aware that not many ranchers are aware of how to create their ideal habitat for birds-nor do they care deeply about them-so his team sources from those who do. After this, they ship their 100% grass-fed livestock out to passionate bird-lovers located throughout the country. His entrepreneurial spirit continues to contribute greatly towards benefit and conservation efforts.

Todd Churchill has a long history of disrupting the food system. With his entrepreneurial spirit, he founded Thousand Hills Cattle Company - a 100% grass-fed beef brand - and has made it widely available in grocery retailers all over the country. Todd and his wife Dee not only run this business, but also manage a farm near Cannon Falls, MN, where they raise horses, cats, dogs, chickens, and cattle.
